My new computer has Windows 7 on it. My old computer had Windows XP. I have my old hard drive from my old computer, but even when I connect it to my new computer, I can't find my Firefox bookmarks. I can only find my Internet Explorer favorites. Any idea how I can retrieve my bookmarks?

See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox

"Application Data" in XP/Win2K and "AppData" in Vista/Windows 7 are hidden folders.
See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Show_hidden_files_and_folders

Go to: Control Panel > Folder Options > "View" tab > under "Hidden files and folders", select "Show hidden files and folders" You may want to uncheck the box "Hide extensions for known file types" to see the file extensions of all files

XP:

  • x:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\

Vista/Windows 7:

  • x:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\
