You can create a cookie allow exception for website you want to remember you, but this only works if you use "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" and not if you use "Clear history when Firefox closes" to clear Cookies and/or Site Preferences.
Detail like websites remembering you and log you in automatically is stored in cookies, so make sure you aren't clearing important cookies.
You can use these steps to make a website recognize and remember you.
- create a cookie allow exception with the proper protocol (https:// or http://) to make a website remember you
You can check that you aren't clearing important cookies.
- using "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" keeps cookies with an allow exception
- using "Clear history when Firefox closes" to clear cookies clears all cookies including cookies with an allow exception you may want to keep
- clearing "Site Preferences" clears exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, and software installation and exceptions for passwords and other website specific data
- Settings -> Privacy & Security
Cookies and Site Data: "Manage Exceptions" - Settings -> Privacy & Security
Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history":
[X] "Clear history when Firefox closes" -> Settings
ok but how do i create an exception for facebook i am not following this
this what i have so far
also this now is this correct or do i check clear history when firefox closes ai sm afraid ill lose every thing it will log me out of everything
While on a Facebook page, you can call the page information window with ctl+i and on the Permissions tab configure Set Cookies.
In the Custom history settings, you can specify Remember browsing and download history and, if you wish, Remember search and form history.
You can use Clear Recent History (ctl+shft+del) to clear history. I have had a bad experience with a recent release of Firefox when specifying Everything as the period so I just specify Today now plus the items to clear (NOT cookies, active logins, site settings or offline data). You can also delete pages when showing history (ctl+shft+h).
Probably best is to create the exception for https://facebook.com to include possible sub domains.
