Folder structure jumps inappropriately after naming or deleting folders

I have asked this question before with a different subject title, and I am surprised there is no move to fix it. It is an annoyance that I expect effects many. So I am trying again with a new title and more explanation.

I have attached 3 images, showing a) how I have my folders layed out, b) viewing a group of my folders including my local folders, and c) the change in view after I rename one of the observed folders called "Amick." Instead of the view staying the same, so that I can see the name-changed folder in the folder structure, it reverts to the top of the structure showing all the favorites followed by the local folders.

What I would like to have happen is for there to be NO CHANGE in the view after I change the name of a folder or delete a folder, so that I can see what I have accomplished and continue working. As it is now, it is a big nuisance the time waster. Am I missing something that I can do to solve this problem, like some advanced setting?

Thank you.

I am surprised to not get any replies or to hear of others experiencing this issue. Can someone suggest if there is another forum I should post this in?

You rename a folder and it is added/sorted into it's alphabetical location in the list. What is odd about that.

Matt, Perhaps I wasn't clear. Take another look at the images I provided. If it did what you said that would be ok, but it is not doing that. After the Amick folder is deleted the display moves away from All Folders/Compuserve and jumps to the top of the folder list to Favorite Folders. And the folders I was working with were not Favorite folders. So after the deletion or name change, I then have to scroll back down to where I was in this list.

I believe the behavior should be either that the view stays stationary and the new folder is either missing or renamed, OR that the view moves to the location of the renamed folder. TBird is not doing either of those things.

MATT - please read this. I just realized why you and I are seeing different things. If you click the 3 dots to the right of Folders and select only Folder view, then all works well, exactly as you would like. However, if you select both Favorites and Folder view, which is the way I like to use TBird, then whenever you make any operation on the folders, the view jumps to the top of Favorites and you lose your place.

So the fix I am asking for, is for the view to remain at the place you are at, whether you are renaming or adding or deleting a folder, when you have both Favorites and Folders selected.

Thank you.
