Google Calendar constantly disappears

OS: Mac / 2020 Macbook Pro Thunderbird version 78.7.1 (64-bit) (most current) Provider for Google Calendar Add-on version 78.0.1 (most current)

Been having this issue for a while now - Calendar entries suddenly don't show up in the calendar tab and in the today pane.

I go into the calendar pane and click the eye shaped icon next to the google calendar I want to see, it all becomes visible again in both the calendar and today pane.

The next day it's usually gone again and I have to go in and make it visible. I don't shut down my computer or thunderbird. Calendar settings are set to "Show all calendars"

It's not a huge deal, but tedious to do every day and the whole point of having the today pane is that I'm not thinking about those things, I see them, I remember to do them. I don't always remember to refresh it and it's caused me to miss some things.

I have tried removing thunderbird and re-installing, that doesn't affect it. I have tried disconnecting/reconnecting the Google calendar, that doesn't affect it either.

Please help! Thanks

Try adding the calendar directly as a CalDAV calendar, without the Provider add-on:

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1304356#answer-1368791

In 78.7.1 you can also add Google Contacts as a CardDAV address book using this URL:

https://www.googleapis.com/carddav/v1/principals/username@gmail.com/lists/default/

Double-click mail.addr_book.carddav.enabled to true in Options/General/Indexing/Config. editor to add File/New/CardDAV Address Book... to the Address Book menu.

Hello! I have done all this

"Try adding the calendar directly as a CalDAV calendar, without the Provider add-on:

In 78.7.1 you can also add Google Contacts as a CardDAV address book using this URL:

But TB doesn's sync my address book with gmail. I have tried everything (editing on gmail, editing on TB) but nothing passes from one place to another. Is there something else i need to do to make this work? Tks a lot for the Help. Alexandre

Hi again, i have a new update. If i edit on TB the changes appear on Gmail, but editions on gmail don't reflect on TB. Is there any way to fix that?

Tks again.

I'M Sorry, but it seems that my 1st response didn't show here.

I did all this:

Yes, I noticed that using the built-in CardDAV with Google Contacts only works one way: changes in TB are transmitted to Contacts, but not the opposite. Until that's fixed, try TbSync or Card Book, as either one syncs in both directions.

I'm also using CalDAV / TbSync for some of my calendars (using the builtin Google Calendar provider for Google stuff, and TbSync for my self-hosted stuff) and all calendars across all providers disappear upon reopening the program, with the same symptom: you have to click twice on the hide/show eyeball, one by one, to get each one to show up again.

Interestingly, this doesn't affect task lists for me. My tasks are mostly showing up on boot even as the calendars don't. My guess, a calendar rendering bug or a bug with the hide/show function.

The Provider for Google add-on has a problem with disappearing calendars. Try either the built-in CalDAV or TbSync/Provider for CalDAV & CardDAV add-ons, but toggle extensions.dav4tbsync.googlesupport to true in Config. editor.

As I said, I also use TbSync for CalDAV (Nextcloud) as well. Both calendar sync methods have the same problem.

I think this is the same as this bug: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1690958

OS: Ubuntu 20.10 (64-bit) Thunderbird version 78.7.1 (most current) Provider for Google Calendar Add-on version 78.0.1 (most current) Owl for Exchange 0.7.7.5 (most current)

Experiencing the same problem, with the same workaround. Adding the calendars manually doesn't help. Also doesn't seem to be limited to Provider for Google Calendar, because I use Owl for Exchange to access an Exchange calendar, and experience the same issue.
