Thunderbird Email
I am confused about Thunderbird Email. It seems that it just filters other email providers through their service. I am trying to get rid of Gmail and Google and be done with their surveillance. Can I get a Thunderbird email account separate from my gmail account?
Chosen solution
Thunderbird is an email client. See https://www.google.com/search?q=email+client+definition for more info about email clients.
You'll need to buy/register a domain through a domain registrar and have it hosted by a hosting service provider. You'll then be able to create email accounts (mailboxes) in your newly registered domain. Hosting and domain registration are not free services, they have a monthly/annual fee.
Thunderbird has a shortcut that you can use to buy/register and host a domain with gandi.net. You can access this shortcut via the File menu > New > Get a New Mail Account. For more info about gandi.net, visit https://www.gandi.net
