Timing out when sending attachments using version 68.11.0
I have been using TB for 15 years and never had this issue where I send an attachment and if it does go through it take 5 or more minutes to send. Then when it happens to go through it says it was sent but a copy is not in my out box and then that hangs up for 5 or more minutes after hitting retry over and over again. I have unchecked and turned off in McAfee the realtime scanning, I have tried to change the outgoing port, I have tried a different computer, I have called Verizon to see if there was anything going on with them. At this point I have no idea what to do. I rely on TB for all my business and personnel needs. I need a solution please. Thanks, Steve

To diagnose problems with Thunderbird, the following:
- Restart Thunderbird with add-ons disabled (Thunderbird Safe Mode). On the Help menu, click on "Restart with Add-ons Disabled". If Thunderbird works like normal, there is an Add-on or Theme interfering with normal operations. You will need to re-enable add-ons one at a time until you locate the offender.
- Restart the operating system in safe mode with Networking. This loads only the very basics needed to start your computer while enabling an Internet connection. Click on your operating system for instructions on how to start in safe mode: Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, OSX
- If safe mode for the operating system fixes the issue, there's other software in your computer that's causing problems. Possibilities include but not limited to: AV scanning, virus/malware, background downloads such as program updates.
I tried your instructions in safe mode and disabled add ons. Still having the same issue. Sometimes I can get an attachment to be sent, which takes forever, but then I get this message. 'Your message was sent but a copy was not placed in your folder (sent mail) due to a network or file access errors. You can retry or save the message to local folders/sent mail. And at the bottom of my screen I get a TB message = connection to server imap.gmail timed out.
