Hello I need to change my root e-mail from shaw.ca to telus.net. On the system I cannot change it because I cannot verify through shaw.ca That e-mail is closed for months now. Question: I changed to telus.net for all email addresses and it worked great. Now its months later everything comes into Thunderbird fine but nothing will send out. Telus claims its the country I am in. Belize. That is not true. I tried 143 Starttls port plus 465 ssl/tls then 1025 but nothing can be sent from Thunderbird. Any suggestions. Do you have any idea what could have changed? Does Thunderbird have any agreement with Telus in Canada? Thanks Sharene Young

The correct settings for Telus are: smtp.telus.net on port 465, SSL/TLS security, authentication = normal password, User Name = email address. If your settings are correct and still can't send, check that your security/AV program is set to not scan outgoing mail.
