Firefox 66.0: where did autofill data go?

Just got a new version of Firefox...have always had an issue with autofill with Firefox, where it adds addresses for me willy-nilly without my requesting it. Then I have to go and remove the extras, because they screw up the autofill process.

So where is the autofill data in Firefox 66.0? I've scoured the Options page, seems to have been removed. There was a "Forms and Passwords" section under "Browser", now that's gone. I need to remove a couple of autofill address entries to simplify my life, but can't find out where to do that.

I found the autofill data in my profile in AppData, but don't want to touch it there...looks very intricate with lots of punctuation.

Please help...this is very frustrating. Should be easy to do.

Thanks.

There are some extensions.formautofill pref present on the about:config page that you can look at.

  • extensions.formautofill.available = on

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I accept the risk!" to continue.

"Forms & Autofill" should appear right below "Logins & Passwords" in "Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security".

It appears that the SUMO article isn't really up to date for Autofill.

Hmmm...not there. RIght under "Logins and Passwords" are "History" and "Address Bar", followed by "Permissions". "Forms and Autofill" is missing in action.

That was the first thing that I did, search for "Autofill" in the Options page search, and got no hits. That made me very suspicious :-).

Wonder what's going on here...had this in the last version, gone now.

Don't know if re-installing would help, guess that I should try removing and re-installing. Really don't have a lot of ideas about how a section of "Options" could just not be there.

I changed a couple of those autofill config variables, ones that looked interesting and related, and what do you know, the "Forms and Autofill" section re-appeared in "Options" after I restarted the browser.

I'll see what else I may have inadvertently turned on as time goes by. And can turn that stuff off, if they bother me.

Thanks for the suggestion. Don't know what happened there. Never seen this not work in a default install before, stunning.
