Does thunderbird have a new task panel similar to new event panel which is displayed in inbox view?

It is very handy to have a New Event panel when I am in inbox view. Is it possible to get the same type display for New Tasks?

If you have the Today Pane showing, click the > or < symbol at the top to cycle the view between Events, Tasks, or Events & Tasks (see picture).
