Why is YouTube all funky?

So when I go to watch a video on YouTube everything will start acting okay, a little laggy, but nothing I deemed worthy enough to complain about. After a while Firefox would just start pulling some dumb stunts like lagging the video, sometimes even playing the audio, but staying frozen on the visual part, making it look like a picture backdrop with audio. At first I was like "Whatever, it's a new update, so there's gonna be bugs at first," but this bug hasn't been fixed and I'm starting to get worried since it's my favorite browser to use, and works better than Chrome to me, but because of the bug, YouTube videos have become unwatchable and I need to watch videos for my school work at OSUIT. Please help me fix this so I no longer have to use Windows Edge.

Hi brendon.km, do you notice Firefox putting an excess load on your system? For example, the CPU fan might come on if it is laboring with video decoding.

I don't know if the text is important in these videos, but you could try playing 720p instead of 1080p, if the extra resolution isn't critical. You can change the resolution by clicking the little "gear" on the YouTube player controls, then Quality. Does that make any difference?

Also, my computer is a Dell and uses Windows 10. I've uninstalled, redone the Windows 10 update, updated Firefox, removed all previous data and reinstalled Firefox and created a new profile and everything, including resetting my YouTube login and removing and adding different extensions. I have done everything I can think of to help, but this continues to occur. The video will play until it hits a certain point, then the video's visual content will freeze, but the rest of the video will keep playing like nothing weird is happening. It would be kind of funny, if it didn't happen every time I play a video. Please help if there's any kind of help that can be had.

It works well on videos that aren't animated, but when I watch a video on video games or cartoons, the videos visual content will freeze.
