I have a subscriber list of people who want to get my messages. I have recently found that one message bounces back, but I can't figure out which one. I use TO: ME, FROM: ME and all my subscribers are BCC. Is there a way to tell which one is bouncing? I am using Windows 7. Thank you for any insight you might be able to give.

When I send and it bounced I get an error message like:

Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:

Some-recipient@some-net.net

Technical details of permanent failure: Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the server for the recipient domain some-net.net by mailgw.some-net.net. [123.45.nnn.nnn].

The error that the other server returned was: 550 #5.1.0 Address rejected.

Dont you get that?

I get that when I send to someone individually. But since this is to a list, I get: return code, then, requested action not taken, mailbox unavailable, but no information about which mailbox is not available.

Thanks for replying to my post.

Return-code? Server-limits? ( https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1110726 ) How big is your list? Is it a list in address book on TB or does it stay on server?

[Return Code 550] sid: WVj31s0050QvuQb01 :: Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable This is what I got from my last try at sending to my list. I did check your helpful link, but I get this sent to my inbox, not from a server or specified destination such as hot mail. My list is small, about 45 or so. I do have my list in TB, I select all as BCC and use myself as the to and from recipient.

Thank you for replying to my post.

550 is (mostly) an outside server answering. SMTP_Server_Status_Codes_and_SMTP_Error_Codes (pdf)

You could try an addon like Mail Merge or some other one and send them as separate mails, that way you get separate error-messages. (I haven't tried it yet, but its recommended) Mail-Merge

After reading through your posts, and visiting the links that you sent along, I figured I would have to do it one by one to get my answer. I will visit the mail merge add on that you have suggested to see what will happen.

Thank you so much for responding to my messages. You have been very helpful.

I did my mail out one by one this evening, but I did not log into my e mail server after each one...my bad. I will attempt this again in the near future. This should be an easy fix, but this seems to be much harder than originally thought.

Thank you for responding to my posts.

There shouldn't be a need to login after each mail. If you didn't get a error-mail then you have succeded in sending and there is a flaw in your list, like an extra space, comma, semicolon etc.

A refused mail could be that the recievers server put you on the naughty (spam) -list.

The way that I did it, I sent each subscriber a message with me as the to: and from:. as I didn't want the list to figure out I had a problem. If I would have logged in to my e mail server after each one, I would have been able to figure it out. As it is, I have narrowed it down. I did get a bounce back, "mailbox unavailable" but because I did not log in each time, I can't be sure which one it was..but as I said I have narrowed it down. Thank you for all your helpful posts, as you have been able to guide me to figure out what I have to do to to accomplish my original goal. It is appreciated.

I think this is your answer https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/mail-merge/

It uses your lists, sends one mail to eac h recipient so bounces come back from the person you sent to because everyone get their own mail.

Hi Matt,

I have visited the link that you sent along, and it looks like this might solve my question. However, when I went to download this, the author was not verified. This would seem to answer my question and help me with what I want to accomplish, and with high ratings for this add on. Due to the verification issue, will definately keep an eye on this add on.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my post. It is appreciated.
