Check settings: right click on mail account name in left folder pane and select 'Settings' select 'Server Settings' for the mail account If POP: select: 'check for new messages at startup' select : 'check for new messages every eg: 10 minutes Select : 'Automatically download new messages' If imap: select: 'check for new messages at startup' 'select : 'check for new messages every eg: 10 minutes click on OK confirm you have the correct setings selected.
