It is infuriating that one cannot set a group to be permanently BCC but has to remember to do it every time. An unlucky secretary in a London Clinic has just revealed the names and e-addresses of 800 patients by sending out a group e-mail. I have done this myself so sympathise. This error happens quite often, but if the group had a permanent BCC flag it would only need setting once. Please program this.

A Mailing List doesn't store the addressing mode. If it did, would it need to be able to handle a mix of To, Cc and Bcc? It quickly becomes rather complicated and would demand a complex interaction with Thunderbird's addressing tools.

There is an addon called Use Bcc Instead, which prompts you to use Bcc if a threshold number of addresses are added to a message. It may be useful, but a Mailing List in itself won't trigger on the number of included addresses.

Maybe a template prefilled with the addresses would work? Or a Stationery template? Or maybe a Mail Merge would work for you.
