I upgraded to 31.5. I can no longer send email. The error message, in various attempts, is that the effort to send a message from outgoing server: smtp.mycci.net has failed as it has timed out.

Thanks, Zenos, for the useful suggestions. I found additional problems with Thunderbird for me and have decided that I must go to another email system.

This is your first message to this forum, with your current identity. If you have posted previously under a different identity, then a link to your earlier posting(s) may be useful.

You have told us virtually nothing about your system. The easiest thing to do may be to go to Help in Thunderbird, then Troubleshooting Information. Clear the checkbox for "include account names", click "Copy text to clipboard" and then paste into your next posting here.

Do you use a firewall? If so, has it been set to permit Thunderbird? Does the problem persist in Thunderbird's Safe Mode? Or in your operating system's Safe Mode?
