Hey all. Since the Ghostery add-on for Firefox Beta for android (36) hasn't been working, I contacted Ghostery customer support, and they replied to me with a beta version of the Ghostery add-on to see if it would work. It is an .xpi file... I was wondering, how do I use this in Firefox for android? To make use of this add-on? Thanks!

Hi Ererer

I've never installed a third party add-on directly from the operating system on Android (only on Desktop). If you find the .xpi in your Android downloads folder or via the Android file manager if it's in another directory, try tapping on it and seeing if it will open in Firefox for Android and install itself. Not sure if it will work since this may not be allowed on Android and I don't see it in our documentatino: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/find-and-install-add-ons-firefox-android

Please let me know if the above works.

Cheers!

Hey, it worked! I just had to find a good file explorer... The one I downloaded and used is called ES Explorer File Manager. It gave me the option to open the file with "other" and then from there choose Firefox. And the add-on works! This should be remembered to install add-ons from third-parties. Thanks for helping me!

This should somehow be added to the link that you gave me earlier and show how to install third-party add-ons on Firefox for android.
