How can I prevent menu popups when I move the mouse over a menu tab?

Too many times, when I am trying to click on a location, I happen to move the mouse over the edge of a menu tab which causes a menu to pop up and cover the item I am trying to select. This menu then, in effect, "intercepts" the click, and, instead of getting the item I wanted to select, I go to a menu option I DIDN'T want.

When I want to see what is in a menu tab, I will ALWAYS click on it. I NEVER want my computer to second guess and anticipate what I may want. It ALWAYS guesses wrong.

HI cwilke75110, I understand that this can be really annoying. However in Firefox there is a way to disable scripts in general, but not specific menus in a webpage. If this is happening in the drop down menu of Firefox it is possible to hack this and change the style. One add on can make this easy: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/fire.../theme-font-size-changer/
