The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

1. Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
2. Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
4. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Done this and it did not work!!

Have you tried selecting the home page manually? Options > General.

Try removing it using a Anti-Malware program like Malwarebytes - http://www.malwarebytes.org/ or avast browser cleanup http://www.snapfiles.com/get/avastbct.html

and use the search reset addon https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/searchreset/

You most likely need to start by uninstalling from Control Panel / Remove Programs. Your lack of success in correcting your situation may be that some aspects of the item are continually reinitiated/reinstalled from those registry entries that remain on your system. The present situation with Firefox is as follows:

1) I have used the restart add-on to reset Firefox. 2) I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox 3) I have run the add-on to remove Delta

These things have gotten rid of Delta, but I cannot set my home page. In the case of restarting and reinstalling, Firefox initially comes up with the Firefox pages. I set my home page and then after restarting, Firefox comes up with Firefox home page. I cannot get the change to stick. Every time I change the home page and start Firefox has Firefox as the home page. If I restart with add-on disable, I get my home page. What do I need to do to correct the problem?

Finally, after another Malware scan, the problem was isolated. Problem soloved.
