Running W7 64bit (but, YES, I have manually installed the 32bit version of flash!!) Plugins list shows shockwave flash 11.4.402.265 All I get is a black rectangle where the movie would be if it worked. Note, flash is not crashing, it just does not load. I've tried all the suggested solutions: using the adobe uninstaller, manually installing flash, etc, ad infinitum. Nothing works. I know Firefox is free, so is adobe flash, but sheesh, couldn't someone figure how to get them to work together? A few versions ago it all worked fine, but for ages now I've not been able to see flash movies in firefox. Luckily IE (32bit version) shows them quite nicely. I'm happy to try almost any new suggestion, as I've spent hours trying all those already around.

Chosen solution

Try to disable or uninstall the VLC plugin in case that plugin (or another) is interfering.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Hi bigharps,

First Uninstall Flash with the uninstaller provided by Adobe and then download and install 10.3.

thank you

Please excuse the delay in this reply - I've been MIA interstate for a couple of weeks doing grandpa duty. I disabled the VLC plugin, and success at last!! I'll just check (if I remember!) each time I update VLC media player. Thanks for the help.
