can not get prompt popup for save password and plugin install
I am using Firefox 10.0.0.2 on Win7 b4bit os. I found that I can never get prompt popup with any password form submission. Even the plugin install prompt popup can never turn up.. The prompt popup can show in safe mode only.
I tried to re-install the whole browser and cleared all plugins/extensions. Never worked...PLEASE HELP!
Chosen solution
Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
Try to disable hardware acceleration.
- Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.

Can you check this issue on Firefox 11?
the issue can still reproduce when I upgrade to FF 11
Can you try this step which mention here
let us know and reply here whats happening
I verified that I enabled the remember password for sites option, I also tried to do the clean re-install, still no luck. I can confirm that I was not in private-browsing mode.
BTW, I can see the password key icon display next to the location bar. But when I click on it, the expected prompt does not turn up. When I click the add favorite star icon twice, the edit bookmark popup does show, bu as I move mouse above the popup window, the popup start to blink and that prevent me from editing it..

thanks cor-el, the problem got fixed by disabling the hardware acceleration. I tried to update my graphics driver, but it is up to date. Then I set the default video card option from the Intel integrated graphic card to NVIDIA graphic card and enabled the hardware acceleration again. The problem also got fixed.
