could not log in to my Thunderbird e-mail
Have used Thunderbird e-mail for over 10 years with no problem. October 20th logged in and message popped up in window that said something like 'Could Not Make Connection to Server or could not hook up'. Had a line that said 'Change Password. Could not get out of that message'! I have no idea what my original password was when they set up my computer years ago? Since I could not get out of that message, I put in a password that I had for Outlook, which I never use. Now I have a message in window that says: Enter Your Password For [edited email from public] @iglide.net on imap-mail.outlook.com. bottom line is I have no idea how to get back into my Thunderbird e-mail account. I am not very computer savvy. How can I get a solution to this if I can't get into my Thunderbird e-mail?
Thank You, Ken Morgan Cell [phone# removed from public] Land [phone# removed from public]

Hello
it seems that you are using an email system managed by a company, that is itself using the Microsoft mail system as a backend. So maybe these guys are better placed to reset your password if you don't know it ? Also Microsoft has changed the way users are connecting requiring some changes, they could maybe help you setting your account. If the guys at iglide.net are useless, normally you can access saved passwords with Thunderbird (Settings / Privacy and security / Passwords / Click on Saved passwords... button / then click on the 'show passwords' button in the Saved Logins window) but I'm afraid that your attempt of fixing the problem may have changed it. It's worth a try anyway, if you can see a password, note it (do NOT post it here !!!) and try to set your account as OAuth2. But if you are not computer litterate, it's a second best option, try to get help first.
