After restarting my computer, I opened Firefox but every one of my tabs is just a blank white screen with nothing in the address bar, despite the names of the tabs being saved. Opening a new tab it is the same, the page remains blank instead of going to the home page. Clicking on one of my bookmarks to go to a website does nothing. Typing in a website into the address bar doesn't even start a load. Nothing simply happens. Tried opening the settings but it will not activate. Restarting in troubleshoot mode causes no changes. Restarting my computer again caused no changes.

Tried using a different browser and it works perfectly. Problem only seems to be on Firefox.

Some problems occur when your Internet security program was set to trust the previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow Firefox to connect to the Internet again;

  • Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version).
  • Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs. For detailed instructions, see

Could this be relevant? A couple of other users identified Webroot (security software) as blocking 64-bit Firefox 97 -- released today -- from running properly: If you are still running an earlier release of Firefox, this would not be your issue.

After consulting with WebRoot, they advised this was a known issue. The fix was to remove and reinstalled the WebRoot application.
