Hi, is this problem on your Mac or on an iPhone/iPad? This question is currently under iOS (the OS for iPhone/iPad) but a moderator can move it to desktop (Mac/Windows/Linux) if appropriate.

For MacOS:

The redirect block can cause your navigation to stall on a blank page. Please make sure that is turned off:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.

(2) In the search box in the page, type or paste access and pause while the list is filtered

(3) If the accessibility.blockautorefresh preference has a value of true, double-click it to restore the default value of false

Hi, I have checked and the preference was correctly set up on "false".

So this is what I get when I am on facebook : - not possible to click on some parts (close pop up, expand a text etc) - when I click on some links like : opening a page, a story, etc, I get a blank page after a while

When you say "not possible to click" do you mean the X doesn't work when you click it?

Before suggesting ways to look for error messages, maybe try "the usual"? If a site is generally known to work in Firefox, these are standard suggestions to try when it stops working normally:

Double-check content blockers: Firefox's Tracking Protection feature, and extensions that counter ads and tracking, may break websites that embed third party content (meaning, from a secondary server).

(A) The shield icon toward the left end of the address bar usually turns a bit purplish when content is blocked. Click the icon to learn more or make an exception. See: Enhanced Tracking Protection in Firefox for desktop.

(B) Extensions such as Adblock Plus, Blur, Disconnect, DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials, Ghostery, NoScript, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin or uMatrix usually provide a toolbar button to manage blocked content in a page. There may or may not be a number on the icon indicating the number of blocked items; you sometimes need to click the button to see what's going on and test whether you need to make an exception for this site.

Cache and Cookies: When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.

(1) Clear Firefox's Cache

See: How to clear the Firefox cache -- just the web cache, not all the cookies and site data.

If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.

Then try reloading the page (either click the Reload button or Command+R). Any improvement?

(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, click the lock icon at the left end of the address bar. After a moment, a "Clear Cookies and Site Data" button should appear at the bottom. Go ahead and click that.

In the dialog that opens, you will see one or more matches to the current address so you can remove the site's cookies individually without affecting other sites.

Then try reloading the page and logging in again. Any improvement?

Testing in Firefox's Safe Mode: In its Safe Mode, Firefox temporarily deactivates extensions, hardware acceleration, and some other advanced features to help you assess whether these are causing the problem.

If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • (menu bar) Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

and OK the restart. A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).

If Firefox is not running: Hold down the option/alt key when starting Firefox. (On Windows, hold down the Shift key instead of the option/alt key.) A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).

Any improvement?

I am using Windows 10. My problem is that I will be working in Facebook, and for one very short moment a pop=in bubble will ask me if I want to turn on filter keys (PLEASE GOD NO) or sticky keys. If you don't say no, it turns them on. I need to know what to do to permanently turn off sticky keys and filter keys, please. Thank you. I'm sorry I can't help with the others' questions but I don't have a Mac.

I have seen this occasionally if I'm holding down the Shift key while thinking about something. Turns out there are checkboxes in the Windows 10 keyboard settings to disable the ways to accidentally start Sticky Keys and/or Filter Keys. If you type either filter keys or sticky keys in the Windows search box (on the Taskbar or Start menu), Windows will show you a link to that Control Panel.

I am still having trouble with FB on Firefox. It works fine on Safari, but all of my presets are on firefox, so I don't want to change...but might have too if I can't figure this out as we use FB for ministry business alot.

It is not allow me to CLOSE facebook or when I try to click on other pages or groups within FB a blank page comes up. I'd like to sign out but can't.

I tried the about:Config suggestion for access and it on False, I even tried to click to true, then back to false. And suggestions before I go crazy.....this has been going on for weeks.
