I cannot use a private window simultaneously with a regular window. I have uninstalled Firefox, removed all profile data and user data, and rebooted before re-installing, but this does not help. As soon as the private window opens, the original window does not respond to any mouse or keyboard input. This is running on Windows 10. However, the problem only occurs on one of my three computers. On the other two computers, I can switch between the original and the private windows fine.

Hi kunstpdx, has this problem continued since your earlier thread or was Firefox working for a while and then the problem came back?

It's really unclear why this problem occurs on one of your systems and not the others. What could be different??

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support to see if that has effect in case security software is causing problems.

This problem has continued since my earlier thread. I have never found a solution. I do not have any idea what is different on the one machine versus the two other ones. I have cleared out all old Firefox installations and reinstalled multiple times and changed the Firefox configuration to no avail. I just tried the problem in Safe mode and it still occurs. However, I noticed something new. Once the regular and the private windows are running, if I click on a bookmark in the bookmark tool bar on the regular window, that window shows the bookmark's URL, although the bookmark is not loaded. So the regular window recognizes the mouse click, although it doesn't act upon it. The same thing happens as I click from left to right on the various bookmarks in the bookmark bar, but after a few clicks, the next click on a bookmark in the bookmark bar in the regular window, the focus switches to the private window. Clicking on any bookmark in the private window's bookmark toolbar does load the bookmark. The regular window cannot be used for anything until the private window goes away.
