Firefox times out when uploading files
On typically 90% of occasions, when try to upload photographs to my Flickr account, I get a message 'file timed out' and 'Go Back and Fix Errors'. The file (photography) is typically about 11 MB, in size!
This problem has never occurred, when using other browsers, such as 'MS Explorer', 'MS Edge', or 'Goggle Chrome'!
Appreciate your advice

hi, thanks for reporting this. could you test if the following change fixes the problem: go to the firefox menu ≡ > options > privacy & security panel and under permissions check the setting to prevent accessibility services from accessing your browser.
also the IBM Security Rapport software you have present on your system has a long history of causing problems and stability issues in firefox, so if you don't depend on that i'd recommend to uninstall it.
Hi Philipp,
Thank you for your suggestions, (both tested) but unfortunately, these failed to resolve the issue
Try The Refresh feature (called "Reset" in older Firefox versions) can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information.
Note: When you use this feature, you will lose any extensions, toolbar customizations, and some preferences. See the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article for more information.
To Refresh Firefox:
- Open the Troubleshooting Information page using one of these methods:
- Click the menu button , click help and select Troubleshooting Information. A new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
- If you're unable to access the Help menu, type about:support in your address bar to bring up the Troubleshooting Information page.
- At the top right corner of the page, you should see a button that says "Refresh Firefox" ("Reset Firefox" in older Firefox versions). Click on it.
- Firefox will close. After the refresh process is completed, Firefox will show a window with the information that is imported.
- Click Finish and Firefox will reopen.
Hi FFus3r,
Thank you for your suggestion, which I shall try out if the problem reoccurs.
However, I may have resolved the issue by performing a nearly clean reinstall - A clean install is virtually impossible, unless you reinstall Windows, as something is always left behind.
For others, who may have experienced this problem, what I did was:-
(1) Backed up my operating system (I use Macrium Reflect) onto an external drive
(2) Uninstalled Firefox using Windows uninstaller.
(3) Then ran regedit and deleted all of the Mozillia keys - These are found in Software in HHKEY_CURRENT-USER and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
(4) Opened up my C drive (Operating System) and entered C: USERS >>MY NAME >> APPDATA >>, and one by one Local, LocalLow, and Roaming, and again deleted Mozillia folders. I had some difficulty here, having to enter each folder in turn. What I found was that I could delete all, except 'IBM Rapport' - So I left this in place!
(5) Again, whilst in my C drive, I visited Folders 'Programs' and 'Programs (x86)' and verified that there were no Mozillia folders
(6) Next I ran Registry cleaner in CCleaner (Free version) and deleted all Mozillia keys.
(7) Finally, I downloaded and installed the latest version of Firefox.
This has so far been successful, with a limited number of uploads
Note: When I performed a Windows search, of my C drive (which is dedicated to my operating system) for Mozillia & Firefox, Windows found a considerable number of enteries, with these identities. But not knowing what they were (possibly Windows files), I left them in place - Hence my original statement of a 'nearly clean reinstall.
I hope this might be helpful to others
