scheduling email message sending
I want to be able to send the same message on a schedule - eg. A reminder to my daughter to check the speedo on her car on a weekly basis and reply to me with that reading so I can monitor her servicing needs.
Or to repeatedly send an email to a receiver who is not responding even though I know they are receiving the mail on a short time cycle (eg. hourly) until they respond.

You could save email as template so you can reuse it. then set up an event which can remind you to send an email.
Or create a template and with 'Send Later' The addon extension 'Send Later' facilates scheduling an email which you use as 'Send Later' rather than as 'Send' https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/send-later-3/
Thanks, Toad Hall - I've been using Thunderbird for years and never noticed the Template option before!!
I just tried the Send Later command as a test by sending it to myself.
I was expecting an option to come up whereby I could set a time - but the email just disappeared from my screen as it normally would with a Send Now.
It's not in my in-box and it's not in Drafts - how do I find it and how do I manage the timing of the message?
OOPS! Sorry, Toad Hall, I didn't note the bit about the extension - I'll download that.
But there is a "Send Later" option under the File Menu, which is what I used - do you know how to manage that?
The 'Send Later' button just puts emails into the 'Outbox' folder located under 'Local Folders' . You send items in that folder by right clickon Outbox and use 'Send unsent messages' option.
the 'Send Later' addon will offer additional options when you select 'SEnd Later' to set times.
Thanks, Toad-Hall.
