Chosen solution

If you hover a tile on the new tab page then you see a 3-dot button. You can click this '...' icon and click the X in the drop-down list to remove the site ro delete the page from the history.

The solution does not work. After hitting the 'X', the icon is still there.

Hi tpcr

What is your operating system? Are you also on Mac or on a different platform?

Could you please create a new thread for your question.

Clicking the X, either in the three dot actions menu that appears if you hover a tile or by clicking the X that appears when you hover a tile in Edit mode should make that tile disappear.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window
