How do I get me email account on thunderbird, I have tried the auto configuration but it will not work?
It will not send an email, I get this error message: Sending of message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to SMTP server imap.secureserver.net timed out. Try again or contact your network administrator.
Im able to get messages but not able to send them. I need help ASAP!!

It looks like you may have entered invalid smtp information. Double check your settings. If you don't know them, contact your email provider and they'll either direct you to a page with their current settings or send them to you. Note that the settings involve not only the server name, but also the ports, and the security connection (Ie. if your settings are not meant for SSL and you checked that box, they will not work.) So don't assume, just double check everything.
Hi jayliger, You need to manually configure your SMTP server settings. It looks like you are using GoDaddy's Workspace Email. I found configuration information for their servers at https://www.godaddy.com/help/thunderbird-set-up-your-workspace-email-4878
In Thunderbird, click on Tools-Account Settings. The window that pops up will have a panel on the left side. Down at the very bottom (you may have to scroll down) will be an item titled "Outgoing Server (SMTP)". Click on it. Your secureserver.net SMTP account should show up on the right. Highlight it by clicking on it and then click on the "Edit" button.
There are five fields you need to make sure are correctly configured: Server Name: smtpout.secureserver.net Port: 465 Connection security: SSL/TLS Authentication method: Normal password User Name: your email address
I assumed that you want to use the more secure method with SSL. If you don't, then use the other values in the table at the link above.
Hope this helps, Norio
