Thunderbird on Windows 8.1 sends mail w/o error but mail is not delivered.
New Toshiba A6 laptop running current Windows 8.1. Installed Thunderbird 31.6.0. Configuration completed properly. Am able to receive mail but cannot send. When I send mail I see messages "connecting to server" and "mail sent successfully". I DO NOT RECEIVE ANY TYPE OF ERROR MESSAGE. The mail never gets to the intended server.
The automatic Thunderbird configuration sets the outbound server to "SMTP.lakeland.ws" port 587. After numerous failed attempts to send mail to myself at "[email protected]", I reconfigured the SMTP outbound based on my Windows 7 Windows Live Mail configuration on another laptop: "mail.airstreamcomm.net" Port 25.
When I sent mail with this configuration I was prompted for the password for my email server. I provided the password and the mail appeared to send. NO ERROR MESSAGE and the mail went to the sent queue. Subsequent attempts appeared to send the mail with NO ERROR MESSAGE but the mail never gets to the Lakeland.ws server.
I then delete the account from Thunderbird and initiated the automatic configuration sequence to set the parameters back to the original configuration. Still have the problem

Try sending a mail to [email protected]. I will reply if I get it, and I think I will

The answer supplied by Matt was that email to 'me' was not working. The fix supplied by Matt was to try 'reply' instead of 'write'. Using 'reply' I can send email to, cc or bcc to myself.
I take it then that you got my replies.
