video lags, 1 solution is build in flash plugin like in waterfox or chrome, its impossible for user to fix, my OS: Win 8.1 all worked fine in waterfox until update 35.0, it got memory leak after that, well it had small memory leak before, but after last update id got worse

i have tried meany things, & i'm not talking about YouTube, i'm talking about anime watching AuEngien & MP4Upload as 2 examples

i have 1sec or 2sec video freeze & then it speeds up to make even the 1sec - 2sec

Chosen solution

I figured out how to make Flash run in a single core of your CPU without having to change the affinity in Task Manager manually! You can re-enable protected mode of Flash now. Just follow my instructions on how to disable protected mode except change the value of the setting to False. To make Flash run in a single core, follow the instructions in this video (I put this together "quickly" so forgive me. It actually took me one and a half of an hour to complete it which you probably wouldn't have guessed alone because it looks like a 6 year old put it together): http://youtu.be/F210MyTgZZE Just a quick note: if you update Adobe Flash Player, you might need to repeat the process that I showed you in the video after updating it.

Did you make sure that you have the latest Flash plugin? You can get the appropriate plugin here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html

Nightly worked well to, but it was missing a lot of functions to so i uninstalled it, when i wrote Google.ee or Google.com page opened what said 301 permanently moved (meany other pages were same) & General Options was blank, but it has potential, pages that worked worked fine, i did not watch videos to long with it, but even that part seemed fine, i heard there is even 64bit flash out, but i don't want to make it worse by trying it, when i bought this PC what i am using in aug or sep then there was Flash 32bit already on it

i wonder does codec pack influence Flash? i ask cause i only have build in Codecs, never downloaded 1 to this PC, but if they do, can codecs pack fix the issue?

share this page function has increased FireFox & WaterFox memory usage, i recommend u stop adding new features to ur browser before u brake it, it already broke waterfox, it came to waterfox with last update, update 35.0, & there are more unnecessary features to remove to improve Firefox Performance, it has gone down sins i used it last time in sep or oct, in 2006 or 2007 when i had it in my old PC it was even better

also Lang link wont work at: http://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/30/?newdiscussion=1 just like meany other link on that page, like reply for example, its not huge issue, but i figure i report it

i have VLC Web Plugin, i mention that in case this can have positive or negative effect

few websites loading lags, the loading circle stops for 1sec & 2sec, in ver 32 i did not have that issue

with firefox CPU goes up to 20%, normally it is max 5% with out any browser, it does not stay 20%, its just the max i so once, the 20 is total not just firefox, & memory usage 610MB max so far, its like waterfox v32.0 was

ofc youtube has lag issue to, all online video types have

The Flash plugin isn't "built into" either Chrome or Waterfox, it is just packaged with their installer or is automatically installed as part of the installation of those browsers. Plus Chrome participated in the development of the Flash "Pepper" plugin for Chrome, to move away from the NPAPI type of plugins for Chrome by creating their own plugin architecture. Mozilla just doesn't do it that way because every thing that Mozilla does is open source; they don't want anything to do with distributing proprietary software like Flash.

As far as Firefox adding new features that you [or I] don't want or think are unnecessary; we have no choice in that, other than switching to a different browser or never updating Firefox.

Flash doesn't use "codec" packs, but other types of plugins do. Just having codec packs installed has no impact upon Flash.

Waterfox s not supported here it is not a Mozilla browser, although it is Firefox based. Watch out by the way for 64 bit versions of Firefox for Windows, they may be made available for general release from Mozilla fairly soon.

Developer decisions and policy is outside the scope of this forum. We are only fellow users of Firefox here, not developers.

If you do start a discussion on one of those fora you may cross link it from this thread so we may follow what is said.

My understanding is Firefox is moving away from FlashPlayer and towards HTML5 solutions.

Remember Flashplayer is problematic proprietry software, and Adobe does not support or does not support fully some of the Firefox supported platforms. Having said that Firefox is experimenting with shumway a project for native support of swf. http://mozilla.github.io/shumway/

also i do not have Java, cause i don't play Java paste games, so i feel i don't need it, i mention it as extra info, in case Java play a role in it

does new HTML5 play all videos & not just youtube? like AUEngine & MP4Upload from animeultima(DOT)Tv, how to get URL from there to play it trough VLC player? is there a plugin that reveals the URL? so i can copy paste it

i think that flash does not support win 8 & 8.1 neither, cause in my old PC i have win7 & no issue with flash, well it was when i used the old PC last time last year

features i mentioned cause awry time new features is added firefox becomes more broken, at 1 point it becomes unusable

does any1 know a solution, how to stop lags?

I have Windows 7 but not 8. IIRC there was mention of the fact that by default Windows 8 does include FlashPlayer, but it is only the plugin for IE not the Firefox version. Possibly all you need to do is install FlashPlayer yourself

As for HTML5 video there are many different types. HTML5 is the new standard for making the Web work rather than just a type of video

It is more powerful than previous standards so enables a web browser to do more. The types of steam, animation or whatever may vary. Often the term HTML5 video is just used to distinguish something as not flashplayer based.

Java is again proprietery software that is or was very commonly used

flash that game with PC, was not just IE plugin, it was Flash that is attached to machine, installed on ur PC + IE plugin, when firefox was installed it had flash plugin with it & that started using the flash what is installed on my PC, when u see flash running from TaskManager its not firefox plugin, it flash plugin that is installed in ur PC, IE & firefox both use it

when i installed firefox flash plugin was already in firefox, its not the old version of firefox in 2007 where u had to download it, new day's browsers come with flash or HTML5 on them, depending on which browser supports which plugin

sadly the HTML5 versions that currently exist are for win7, i guess when they make 64bit fox it has newer HTML5 that works in win8.1 + i think that the current firefox wont run videos without flash, with HTML5, if it would & if there would be version for win8 i would probably replace flash with it

You will find Flashplugins do come in different types.

  • Visit Adobes test site https://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ using your chosen browser it will
    • Explain which version you need
    • Test whether you have a working install
    • You must test IE & Firefox separately because they do use different plugins
  • If you need to download visit https://www.adobe.com/go/getflash
    • Take note from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/
      • Windows 7 has three types of plugin available Chrome etc, Firefox & IE
      • Windows 8 has two types of plugin available Chrome etc or Firefox. The IE version is not offered presumably because it is provided with Windows 8.
      • If you need Flash Player for Windows 8 Firefox you need to download it, you will not be able to use the IE plugin for Firefox.

Possibly you are thinking of Adobe AIR when talking about

Flash that is attached to machine, installed on ur PC

I do not use or follow Windows 8 but clearly just from the information above Windows 8 Fiefox should be able to use FlashPlayer.

As for Firefox not using HTML5 video possibly the opposite is happening. Soon it may be not straightforward to use FlashPlayer on YouTube for videos, it will default to HTML5.

Firefox whether for Windows, Mac OSX or Linux from www.mozilla.org/firefox/all does not come with any Flash plugins.

Firefox scans and makes use of any compatible Plugin based Plugins that is on system. Plugins are not installed in Firefox like Extensions and Themes are.

IE uses a ActiveX version from Adobe and Chrome comes with a Pepper version of Flash.

o know IE & Fox use different Flash Plugin, i mean that there is also flash on ur PC, dunno how to call it Flash engine or what? plugin installed in ur PC, but both plugin, firefox plugin & IE plugin use that plugin file what is in ur pc, dunno maybe i explain it wrong way again, my eng is not so good, if i would not have the plugins then video would not play at all or would be really weird, in past i remember disabling flash for a moment & video was off frame a lot, cant remember was it in firefox or waterfox, i guess there was some other plugin that worked with video to

about HTML5, i hope so & i hope it plays all videos & better then flash, 1 question do u mean firefox beta, is that already like that?

is there a solution for video lag issue? like some adds for example, or player that stream all EP when u copy paste this http://www.anime-sub.com/watch/asobi-ni-iku-yo-episode-1.html or this http://www.anime-sub.com/watch/asobi-ni-iku-yo.html, or a player that can open video website almost like steam program opens steam forum

i have VLC plugin to, if i disable flash can VLC play videos, i looked it has a lot of formats, MP4 MGE, it plays a lot of formats, but can it replace flash? or can testing it make things worse?

I think VLC is able to play most things.

Not really the place to discuss third party VLC software. Some features or uses of which may be controversial. However I do note

Problems with that may partly be due to the Content Distribution Network used take note of

Specifically the adverts etc, you may experiment with different script or ad blockers but note sites often depend on money form adverts and may deliberately make blocking adverts difficult.

i have been using 1 source MP4Upload, 3 videos with out lag & only 1 video tab, one by one, after i sleep & boot PC i try AuEngine to, so far it seems that the issue is that Firefox + Flash or just Flash can't handle 2 video tabs usually i have 1 W8 & loading when i watch one

but for some reason animeultima tv pages lags when i open next page, the loading circle stops for 1sec or 2sec & that time the page also is frozen, does any1 know a solution to that?

that's half solution, but always W8 for better solution  :)

EDIT: seems that it it that way, 1 Tab video pages & no lag, also today YoTube started using HTML5, but i don't have HTML5 plugin in Fox, but its good thing, 1 video tab can be opened when i watch youtube cause both use different plugins, i wonder was it HTML5 left behind when i uninstalled chrome Canary, i wanted to see what its like, & new Fox is using it, or was HTML5 in my PC somewhere & Canary Overwrote it, well time will tell, does HTML5 continues working or not, or will it work randomly cause of a bug

cause of HTML5 issue i tried few thinks new bookmarks lost their icons, how can i restore the icons, its just only reading names is confusing a bit with some bookmarks

HTML5 in youtube is not always working, i kind of reset fox, it created old file folder, i did not know how to restore it cause reset did not fix anything with HTML5, so i just overwrote new files with old files, but all my passwords icons were gone, well its not huge issue, but i like to know how to restore the icons, i attached image file here so u can see what i mean

right new they are blank icons, Example youtube icon is just a square (like all) not the icon that represent youtube, once i visit youtube it restores icon, but i have to meany bookmarks, its insane if i half to visit all 2200 sites

Modified by Sugram22

I am not sure why the icons were lost. As you say they will return as you visit the sites.

about bookmark icon issue my error was that i deleted all in qgh92p1x.default-1424288549007 folder i should have just used Overwrite, i figured i just try it, OFC i copied this folder just in case i brake FireFox, in other words made backup

bookmarks were there, but yes u can say icons were lost

& about HTML5, i think i get add-on that does not let Flash work in youtube, sometimes HTML5 works & sometimes flash works, its with youtube, other sites i have used never used HTML5, but if Mozilla replaces flash with HTML5 it mite change OFC, but this is new

THX for the reply

EDIT: seems that the 2 adds i tried wont work, 1 was not simple, it gave a link to another site, lets say i chose a video, video was blocked & it gave a link where to watch it, other1 did not work, ii like simple, where i just install add & can play youtube in HTML5, i mean automatic where user does not half to do a thing

i remember that there was a trick where when u open youtube u write somethin to the end of the address & it opened settings where user could turn HTML5 on & off, i can't remember what it was & how to write it

it mite be possible from here, found video about it, but it has changed https://www.youtube.com/html5 but the page say's, in use when its possible, i think Flash forces itself on awry where even places where html5 could work

well next to address bar there is button, when i click on it it gives option to block flash on that current page i am at, is it temporary? it just to risky to try, i don't know how to undo it later if video wont use html5 after that
