Is the debugger running in the background? How do I stop it?

Chosen solution

A new profile was to experiment if it was one of the add ons or plugins, but safe mode will also tell you it if its an add on.

There is a plugin container crash to note: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/What%20is%20plugin-container You can try to set Shockwave Flash plugin to ask to activate on the page you are testing on. Is this what may be causing the lock up?

Hi VerizonSucks, Thank you for your question. These are logs from the Mac Console, not the Firefox Debugger that is used to debug webpages not the software.

If you are using the Debugger: Have you set up any breakpoints? https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/d.../Debugger You can takes them out with these instructions above.

There is a bug for: Bug 804010 - firefox/thunderbird triggered DYLD shared region unnest for map

It has not had traction but please also see Bugzilla Etiquette https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=804010

Yes, I use the Mac console to try to figure out why FF runs so slow. Right now, after upgrading to the latest version, windows open slowly, and VERY slowly if clicking on an email link (sometimes it just hangs).

People told me to learn FF by trying out features, and at one point I activated the Developer Tools. So I don't know if I turned on something that is causing that console error message when FF starts up. How can I figure out if anything in the Developer Tools is running (in a way that remains active even after quitting)?

A msg in Bugzilla says the DYLD error is upon shutdown; I think its upon startup.

I also am getting a Ghostery add-on error since the previous upgrade, which I have reported thru the add-on link. The Deny ICMP seems to be Verizon trying to sniff my network every few seconds:

8/2/14 11:47:47 PM kernel firefox (map: 0xe341cd0) triggered DYLD shared region unnest for map: 0xe341cd0, region 0x7fff81000000->0x7fff81200000. While not abnormal for debuggers, this increases system memory footprint until the target exits.

Leaving the Console open has caused Firefox to run a little slower when I tested this, however the issue when clicking on an email link, what format was the link in the original message?

Did the Ghostery error improve with the version update to 31?

more options

Clicking on hyperlinks embedded in the emails. Not had a problem with locking up for some days now. EDIT: I created a new Profile.

Still getting Ghostery errors:

Wait did you add ghostery to the new profile?

Yes, its one of the addons I need for privacy control.

And its still giving this error, which is associated with a new tab opening very slowly. Unless its a full cache... looking for that cache clearing addon now...

But I don't think its all Ghostery... when clicking on the Menu Bar /Tools to get to one of the items, there is a time lag before the drop-down appears, and the keyboard buffer seems to be way behind my typing...

Ok, I shut down & have been trying to restart for an hour or so... keeps becoming Not Responsive. After a long time I did get a script error:

Script: chrome://browser/content/browser.js:16399

But then it became Not Responding again.

Locked up both when restarting previous session using Session Manager -- and after I Force Quit that one, the FF built-in session restore became Not Responsive.

The 3rd time I de-selected some tabs and it opened OK. So seems that FF is failing to handle the restoration of some websites properly, and is locking up.

Still getting Ghostery error too, but I don't think its causing the lock up.

I'm getting this error in OSX console as well. It appears as soon as I start Firefox. I do not use Ghostery and Flash is already and has been forever set to Ask before being used; so those can't be the causes.

Where are the crash logs in the Firefox debugger? Am I to understand that there is no fix for this kernel panic which has been known about since 2012?
