For some reason ALL of my emails no longer display images. They are all showing up as links. This started after I tried (unsuccessfully) to set up the ability to encrypt emails. I had installed an extension (I think it was called GNP) which I have since removed. I tried restarting Tbird with extensions and add-ons disabled, but that did not fix the problem. I have no idea how to fix this (perhaps I need to remove and reinstall Tbird? If so will I lose my emails?). I searched FAQ's, I looked through the options menus, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Press Alt or F10 to restore the menu bar in case it's hidden.

The Enigmail add-on switches TB to plain text, because encryption doesn't work well with HTML.
