Hi there,

since yesterday, Firefox constantly crashes when I'm interacting with other opened software.
I have this problem on 2 computers.
e.g. if I open Windows Explorer, or if it's opened, if I navigate in folders... Or if I interact with my e-mail client (Thunderbird on one computer, up-to-date, and MS Outlook 2010 on the other)

I still had FF 20.0.1 so I upgraded it to latest 21, same problem.
(FF plugins and prefs are identical on both PCs)
All plugins up-to-date. Windows 7 x64, up-to-date.
I already tried to reset FF (new profile), to uncheck "hardware acceleration"

Below is my crash history (on one computer. I can post the other one's history when I get back home) :

What is MuterWin7-32.dll mentioned in crash reports ?

I do not get results on a web search for that which is odd. Maybe it is a new malware created file ?? OOPs a glitch at my end, there are search results but I do not have time to study them at the moment.

I also note content_blocker_xpcom.dll

As I said in the earlier post crash reports whilst in safe mode and with plugins disabled may help.

Try Firefox in Firefox's safe mode and with all plugins disabled (better still also in a new profile)

I have looked at a couple of your crash reports but they were not crashes from safemode.

Please post back with how you get on, and if it still crashes please post another couple of new CrashIDs.

Not sure I understand what you mean by Firefox crashing when interacting ? Windows explorer will presumably normally be running continuously. Firefox is only crashing when you use another application or action on Windows ?

Trying Windows safe mode starting from F8 may help as a troubleshooting step.

Sorry, I didn't think about trying in safe mode before posting...

I did so, and didn't have any problem. Now from what you mentionned about MuterWin7-32.dll, and from an investigation among the last update dates from my plugins, I tried again, with "Firefox Muter" disabled. (http://addons.mozilla.org/fr/firefox/addon/muter/)

That was the problem. It did update on sunday 2nd, to v1.0.0

I checked on their own website, and found v1.0.1 which solved the problem.

Thanks for your hints !

For the records, "Content Blocker" is part of Kaspersky Antivirus.
