Is Firefox being hacked today? Tried 3X to download, got error message, said not valid site, and each time opened a different download.

I have now tried 3 times to download the current version of Firefox. I first did a search and chose the link directly to the Mozilla website. The first time I started the download installation by hitting 'Run', it was cancelled with an error message (don't remember exact words) to the effect that this was an illegal downloaded version and it cancelled itself. So, I looked at the extension and it seemed strange. I then attempted it a second time, and got a different download extension, so I cancelled that one. I then closed and reopened the site, and tried again. I got a third and again different extension. So, now I'm afraid to try to download Firefox. Is the Mozilla website being hacked today?

Seems like you have a virus. If running Windows download Malwarebytes and scan your computer. Or else try clearing cache and cookies or download from another source such as download.com

Mozilla uses download mirrors around the globe for server load balancing.

Thanks. Well, then that would explain the 2 of 3 file downloads containing the word "mirror", though it did seem fishy. However, one of those was the one my heavy duty firewall (have no virus, I checked) said was 'illegal' or something to that effect, and wouldn't run the download. It just made the Mozilla screen simply go away. Plus, my 3rd attempt I was sent an entirely different file that didn't contain the word "mirror", so that's when I began to worry.

Yes, I'm running Windows 7. No virus. Plus ironically I had just cleared the cache and cookies because I did that for something else I wanted to work on, a website that asked me to do so.
