When I click on a link to download a file or click on tool-options Firefox freezes up. Have tried various things to get it working, tried starting in safe mode (both FF and windows) created a new profile, complete uninstall, removed profile/personal data and registry entries, reinstalled v4, reverted to v3.6 nothing has made a difference. I thought it might have somethingto do with the malware infection detailed here but that has been cleared up and the machine is now clean so maybe this is a seperate problem which appeared at the same time.

Hope someone has a solution to help clear this up.

Thanks

Your user agent identifies your system as running version 2.0.14, not 3.6.17 or 4.0.1

So please do the following.

Go to Download Firefox 4.0.1 and download a fresh installation file to the desktop.

Then go to Add/Remove Programs, scroll down to "Mozilla Firefox" and remove it, choosing to keep your bookmarks, customizations etc., (don't checkmark the box).

Then reboot and delete the folder called "Mozilla Firefox" at this location: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox

Finally run the installation file you downloaded to the desktop earlier.

Your bookmarks, customizations etc., are maintained in a different location and will become available to you again once you complete the installation.

After you update, do the following.

Go to the following Adobe sites and download these:

Hey Xircal, thanks for the quick reply. I will have to come back to this issue another time. It seems my pc has the same problem detailed in the link above so I need to get that sorted first. I'll be sure to come back and follow your suggestions when the machine is fixed.

Thanks
