My husband hates version 4 so what are my options when support is gone for the old version?
My husband hates the new tabs in version 4 and made me reload the old version. What are my options to use Firefox after support is gone? I don't want to use Internet Explorer. Anyone have an alternate?

Doesn't like the "Tabs on top"? You can change that, to display the tabs below the toolbars, so one of the following:
- Using Firefox button: click Firefox button > Options, click "Tabs on Top" to remove the check mark (checked = on, un-checked = off)
- Using the Menu Bar: click View > Toolbars, click "Tabs on Top" to remove the check mark
- HOLD down the ALT key while pressing the keyboard letters VTT (removes/places the check mark for "Tabs on Top" without opening a dialog)
"What are my options to use Firefox after support is gone?"
Firefox 3.6 is likely to be supported for some time. Generally, support by Mozilla continues for 6 months after introduction of a new version, but Firefox 3.5 is still being supported beyond that "general" 6 month rule.
NOTE: There are other changes that can be made to Firefox 4 to make it look and behave more like Firefox 3.6. See:
- Appearance. See the first section (down to the breaker line, items 1-4) of my answer in this post: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/805743
- Save tabs and exit. See my reply in this post: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/808488
- Location Bar search. See the second section (There is a change in Firefox 4 in how Location bar search works.) of my post: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/805743
You need to update the following:
- Shockwave Flash 10.2 r152
- Check your plugin versions on either of the following links':
- https://www-trunk.stage.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/
- Note: plugin check page does not have information on all plugin versions
- Update the Flash plugin to the latest version.
- Download and SAVE to your Desktop so you can find the installer later
- If you do not have the current version, click on the "Player Download Center" link on the "Download and information" or "Download Manual installers" below
- After download is complete, exit Firefox
- Click on the installer you just downloaded and install
- Windows 7 and Vista: may need to right-click the installer and choose "Run as Administrator"
- Start Firefox and check your version again or test the installation by going back to the download link below
- Download and information: http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
- Use Firefox to go to the above site to update the Firefox plugin (will also install plugin for most other browsers; except IE)
- Use IE to go to the above site to update the IE ActiveX
- Download Manual installers.

- Note separate links for:
- Plugin for Firefox and most other browsers

But you can customize Firefox 4 according to version 3. As you are on Windows 7, you will be having one orange colored firefox button besides your tabs. So you can switch it off to get the old appearance of FF. Just Press Alt+V Select Toolbars and Check the option "Menu Bar" to display it.
