When I've opened History Library for, say, Yesterday, how do I open it to see where I went then?

I click on 'History', then 'Show All History' and get several options. If, for example, I want to see my web search history for 'Yesterday', I click on 'Yesterday' and it becomes highlighted. How do I then open it to see what I want?

See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Viewing_the_browsing_history_-_Firefox

Don't you see any content in the pane on the right side if you click entries in the left folder pane?

No. I get a page headed 'Library' but with nothing else except immediately underneath I get 'Organise' 'Views' 'Import and Back-up'. Below these I get History' 'Tags' and 'All Bookmarks' on the left. On the right I get 'Today' 'Yesterday' 'Last 7 days' 'This month'. Below that I get 'Name' alongside a vacant box obviously waiting for me to enter something. Clicking, or right clicking, on anything gives no option to open the browsing history of any chosen day. So I get nothing and nowhere!

You need to double-click folder entries in the right pane or select a folder item in the left pane. In the left pane there should be a small plus or arrow to open the History folder and see the history entries that you mentioned above ('Yesterday' 'Last 7 days' 'This month').

Can you see any history items in the sidebar (Ctrl+H)?
