Firefox asks to save passwords it already has saved

TLDR: Firefox offers me to save the credentials that are already saved.

I have saved passwords on Firefox. In order to log into my email, I use the saved log in credentials (which means I do not need to type out the credentials). It allows me to sign in, as expected, except that it asks me to save (again) the credentials, as if I have filled in the credentials manually for the first time.

I have Firefox 117.0 on Windows 11 computer.

Thank you.

It is possible that you did save the login for a different origin (protocol and hostname) and Firefox wants to save the login for another domain, so maybe check that in about:logins.

Current Firefox releases include subdomains as a suggestion in the drop-down list. You can set signon.includeOtherSubdomainsInLookup on the about:config page to disable/enable this feature to show subdomains.
