I have 10 different email address (I know...that's my *first* problem!) In trying to get organized, I created another email address an set up folders in Thunderbird for filing only. My plan is to never receive to send emails from this address, it's for filing only.

However, the way I currently have it set up (like any other email address) I can accidentally send from it. Any suggestions on how I can do this?...Or any input on how else to sort through and file a bunch of emails from a bunch of different email address is also welcome :-)

I thought about local folders, but I need to be able to look at emails (search them) on my other Apple devices.

So, I'm wondering if I were to do something like not enter a password (or have the wrong password) but I don't want Thunderbird to try to connect to the server either (that way I'd just always have an error - which only adds to the chaos).

I actually just found a solution. I put a bad login id (changed .com to .comx) in the outgoing server and now if I accidentally send something from that account I get a login error.

I know it's a strange solution to my problem, but it works for now...

Well, I'm not sure of your complete objective, but you could set up local folders, each for an email address. That would serve the need for filing and eliminates the accounts.
