Is upgrading to 91.4 from 78.14 a good idea?

A few months ago I tried to upgrade from 78.14 to 91 and it was a total disaster. I am using Catalina 10.15.7.

I have an extensive filing system of email folders, that I mostly keep local. I also have a lot of address books. When I upgraded, neither of those worked very well. I was grateful to be able to go back to 78.14 (through downloading it again and getting my profile info from Time Machine).

Does 91.4 work any better, in terms of saving extensive filing systems and numerous address books?

No idea really. Your mileage may differ extensively to that if others. There have been many mac bugs fixed in the past couple of versions. But if they related to your issues no one is going to have any idea. I don't even know what your issues were other than thing "didn't work very good"

I had a disastrous update to V68 no issues at all with 91. It is very much a case of identifying the actual bugs affecting your install in bugzilla and following them to answer your question.
