What type of formatting are you talking about? Did you do a system restore? Did you select to save your data?

I did a system restore and then my Windows crashed. Never came up again. I tried each and every suggestion but none worked. I took my PC to an engineer and he said Windows was so badly damaged that he had to format the whole system. When I got my PC back, Firefox was gone and I had to reinstall it.

It sounds like they scrubbed the drive. But just in case;

Open the file browser and look for a folder called Windows.old

Look in the root directory c:\ and also the folders in the user folder.

If you don't find anything, sorry. Unless you made a backup somewhere . . . .
