After today's update, all websites are mostly now white. Many graphics missing. Restarted FF but not Mac OS Big Sur 11.5.2 since a reboot is what caused update+problem.

Also, not sure if my inability to check the box below "Email me when someone answers the thread" is related?

This could be a problem with High Contrast Mode on Mac.

See "New" in the release notes.

Firefox now automatically enables High Contrast Mode when "Increase Contrast" is checked on MacOS in the Accessibility settings.

Make sure you allow pages to choose their own colors.

  • Settings -> General: Fonts & Colors -> Colors: "Override the colors specified by the page with my selections above"

Try "Never" if the default "Only with High Contrast themes" isn't working.

This SOLVED it thanks. (BTW in FF it's "Preferences" not "Settings"). So are millions of Mac FF users not viewing most websites properly due to this issue? My "Only with high contrast themes" setting was default, because as like most users, I never even knew that existed.
