The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.
Using your mouse, mark the most recent 7 - 10 Submitted crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box and paste them in.

Basically, an OOM (Out Of Memory) means the system is having issues with the RAM.

MemTest LAST UPDATED : 12/04/2020
Could you please run a tool from http://memtest.org/
in order to check the integrity of your RAM?
You will need a thumb or disk drive to install it on.
Do you let Windows handle the page file or did you set a fixed size ?
Control Panel -> System -> Advanced -> Performance -> Settings
If you use a fixed size for the page file then try the former and let Windows handle the page file. How to determine the appropriate page file size for 64-bit versions of Windows {web link}
So I downloaded the MemTest to a usb drive. But nothing happens. How do I get it to test my memory?
hello dv,
i dont think its fair to say that FF crashes for no reason. Theres gotz to be one :-)
By the looks of your posts your system may be running out of memory. This might also be what is called a "memory leak" whereas some program is hogging all of your memory or going into loops.
For example, if people install more than 1 anti-virus programs, then these programs will be checking each other. reminds me of a dog chasing his tail.
But i could be wrong with my assessment above.
However, you could try a couple of things at this time.
1) can you tell us how much ram memory and how much virtual memory / page file your system has?.
Modified
From Task Manager: 12GB of memory total. 6.9GB in use 341 MB compressed Committed 14.0/17.1 GB 2.6 GB Cached 770 MB Paged Pool 1.1 GB Non-Paged pool
Ok, thanks
Next take a look at the virtual memory. See pic as example:
How do I find out what my virtual memory is?
Like posted above, Firefox runs out of memory, especially for the page file.
The crash reports are OOM (out of memory) reports where not enough free contiguous memory is available and there is also insufficient space available in the Windows Page file.
Do you let Windows handle the Page file automatically or have you set a fixed size for the Windows Page File ?
- Control Panel -> System -> Advanced -> Performance -> Settings
If you use a fixed size for the page file then try the automatic setting and let Windows handle the page file automatically.
Virtual memory is 5565 MB
ok, thanks for the additional info.
ok so answer to question (1) is you have 12 gigs of ram memory and 5.5 gigs of virtual memory.
yet, it appears that the issue is resulting from running out of memory.
so the next step is to ensure that nothing is running in memory that is none windows operating system related.
2) temporarily disable the startups (which will free up memory) by opening task manager > start up tab > then disabling all that is enable (except for your mouse and or keyboard driver). Then reboot and retry your firefox.
The memory usage looks quite fragmented as with 68% use and 4 GB Available Physical Memory a 2.1 MB allocation fails.

Available Page File : 9,936,896 bytes (9.94 MB) Available Physical Memory : 4,059,381,760 bytes (4.06 GB) System Memory Use Percentage : 68 OOM Allocation Size : 2,097,152 bytes (2.1 MB)

Thanks Cor-el. The info is very helpful. I have seen this out of control page file cited by others on this forum. But i do not believe the FireFox is the cause of it. Instead I hope FireFox is a symptom.
Lets wait and see what DV finds out after clearing out the startups.
Thanks again!

Great.
Those apps you never used, were using your computer. And sometimes there are apps that are promoted as essential but end up doing nothing for the user other than infecting and spying on the computer.
