Adding/modifying recipients when selecting "Edit as New Message" in Thunderbird 78.4

more options

As written in the subject, in the 78.4 version when selecting "Edit as New Message" the "To" field is not accessible. Is this a bug or a feature? In the latter case I would say it is less than ideal as at times it might be useful to modify the list of recipients. Thanks in advance for any help/clarification.

It was in a local folder. I suspect a bug (see previous post).

Tried it in a local folder copy and the Write/compose window that opens behaves normally on my end. Could be graphics glitches with your hardware. Disable hardware acceleration in Thunderbird's Options and restart Tbird.

It's not a feature and definitely not standard behaviour. When I do it, the To field is there and fully accessible. I just dragged a second address to it from an address book then deleted it. Are you saying the To field is visible, but inactive and its contents unchangeable?

Hi Stan thanks for the reply. The "To" field is visible. However, I tried to "edit as new message" a few different emails after your reply and in this case the "To" field is fully accessible and editable. Something wrong with that specific first mail?

Even more strange.... when moving a recipient from the "To" list (drag & drop) into the "CC" list both the "To" and "CC" list disappear...

Hard to tell why that specific message. Try copying it to a local or drafts folder, the attempt this on the copy.

Yes, that was the issue. Additional info for others that might experience the same issue: installation on Linux 5.9.0-1-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 5.9.1-1 (2020-10-17) x86_64 GNU/Linux with KDE Plasma 5.17.5, QT version 5.14.2.
