I have been using the program for many years. Now, I need space on my computer. I deleted 20GB mail on my Gmail account and after that I opened Thunderbird and sync everything. My mails have been gone on Thunderbird, Ok, but when I opened storage folder of Thunderbird there was no change. I expect that this 20GB should have been gone because I already deleted it on Gmail.

So, could you please help me, how can I delete, my deleted messages from storage?

Thanks in advance!

You'll have to compact folders. Compacting can be triggered either automatically or manually, where automatically is the recommended way. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/compacting-folders
