How to report small bugs?
Thunderbird does not offer a simple way to enter feedback - or I did not detect it yet. Today I would enter the following feedback: Rename a folder by just changing the case of the first letter. There is an error message claiming there is already a folder with this name - not really accurate. Otherwise a great piece of software. Congratulations.

This is definitively a record: "Opened 19 years ago" (following the link "this bug"). I made a living for more than 40 years with software engineering, but this I never saw before. If this would be my project, I would recommend that minor problems should be handled once and for ever as soon as possible because usually they require little work - possibly less than what went into the long discussion. Closing and reopening a bug is usually a sign of haste or worse. But then this is a volunteers project, so I will not complain, just comment from the viewpoint of a old software guy. Carry on as you see fit and thanks for your effort anyway.

It's probably best to start by looking for similar or related bug reports by searching Bugzilla. For example, searching on 'rename folder' produces this list, from which this bug gives many details on the issues to do with renaming folders. If you can't find any existing reports, submit a new one. It may not be simple, but it's the best available option.
