Thunderbird Folders pane font size in Linux Lite

I am using Linux Lite, an excellent Ubuntu-based OS.

The problem I had was the tiny font used in the Thunderbird folders pane.

A suggested solution was to install an add-on which can customise these, but for me the necessity of giving a 3rd. party full access to my data was a step too far in terms of potential compromise of privacy and security. I don't recommend it.

Then I discovered that I could use my Linux Lite settings>appearance>fonts to adjust both font and font size - set by default at 9pt. This does effect menu etc. sizes across the system, so I compromised at 11pt which suits me and looks well on Firefox too. (In Linux Lite all this is done by GUI, no command lines are needed).

By default it changes desktop icon text, but desktop-settings>icons>select "use custom font size" gives back control.

I hope this is useful to some.

I am also a Linux user, though not your particular distribution.

We usually recommend an add-on, Theme Font & Size Changer, but this has had issues with a "timebomb" in the code that causes it to expire.

My own approach is to use a userChrome.css file with the following content:

}

You can of course adjust or omit the line setting the font-family, and adjust the font-size to suit your needs.
