When I call up Tools/Message Filters, it is very slow to respond. When displayed, calling up an existing filter to edit it take about 30 seconds. yet then, it cannot be edited: Nothing exists on the Match line (the two drop-down menus don't drop down, and nothing appears in the box. Under Perform these actions, I get all the options on that drop down, but, nothing appears in the next drop down - the folder to move the message to, for example. This entire menu box is unresponsive and nothing works, on existing filters and on creating new ones.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled TB 52.7.0 32bit, no joy.

See the attached file for what it looks like.

Same problem if you start Thunderbird in safe mode? Or WIndows in safe mode?

Yes same with Tbird in safe mode. Have not tried Windows 10 in Safe mode.

Also I have two installations for Tbird. On the other, the laptop, it works fine. I moved the filter files over to the desktop PC to see if that was it, nope, same issue. same version of Win 10. So it's something else I have no ideas what....maybe some jave script or C++ library....a real mystery.

Update: This seems to come and go. The filters run but cannot be edited...sometimes. I haven't figured out what the key is to it. Any ideas?

Still occurs...does anyone have an idea what is going on?

Wayne - Yes I did. Same problem. I am wondering if a re-install of T-bird will help fix this, what do you think? I have also looked at configurations and file and such but I don't see anything obvious....though I don't know what to look for in detail of course. Ideas? Any way to do a clean install without losing the email and blogs/newsfeeds already there?
