Thunderbird will not identify the attachments
After using Thunderbird for years I find that when I attach a file to my email the panel only shows the files or folders on my desktop and not the wording that identifies these files or folders. As an example, if I want to send "Mary" a file identified as "Where's the lamb" I now need to click onto dozens of files on my desktop one-by-one and paste them onto Mary's email in order for them to be properly identified. Invariably they're the wrong files and I have to remove them. I do this until I find "Where's the lamb". By that time Mary probably coudnt be bothered where the lamb is! Please help - this is frustrating.

Just click on "Where's the lamb", and, holding the left mouse button down, drag it to the right of the address bar where attachments show up. If the attachments window is not there, it will open and the attachment will show up in it. Mary will be happy.
