Mouse/cursor acts strangely - little star appears in a circle and web pages disappear. Also, an image of a keybpard keeps showing up on my screen

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

- use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot
If you press the mouse wheel then you might accidentally activate the auto-scroll feature.
- Options/Preferences -> Advanced -> General: Browsing:
"Use autoscrolling"
