Hi All

Awhile back I redid my computer to upgrade to Windows 10. So I backed up everything including my Thunderbird profiles and then reinstalled everything on the new OS.

Everything seemed fine all my mail was there and everything but the accounts were a bit out of the order I preferred them in so I went ahead and moved them using an add on called MANUALLY SORT FOLDERS which I think I found here in the forum somewhere.

Anyways all seemed fine. I had the mail accounts at the top and the older backed up folders all at the bottom of my list in the local folders folder and I had no problem moving mails over to these folders including sending mail via filters to SOME of the folders, but I noticed one newer filter rule which I set up at the same time was not picking up one of the new folders. So I just ignored it and manually move that one mail.

Today though I added 2 new folders and moved 4 of the older folders under this new one and went in to adjust the filters and for some reason neither of these 2 new folders are showing up in my filter list. So right now the filters are sending mail to a folder that has moved so not sure where these mails will go tomorrow being the folder is in a different spot then the filter rules state and the filter rules won't find these new folder.

I saw in here some referring to File/Subscribe but for some reason this option is greyed out.

Any ideas for resolving this so my filters find new folders that are in this older back up profile area from the old system? I know the 4 folders I did move were also from this older system and these seemed to be found just fine is only the newer folders in this area of my directory listing.

Thanks Dave

I cannot find an add-on called "MANUALLY MOVE FOLDERS", but I did find an add-on called Manually sort folders. It appears to me that the add-on accomplishes the manual sorting by renaming the folders to use special characters in front of the folder name. Perhaps Thunderbird doesn't like these special characters in folder names. I recommend contacting the author of the add-on and asking them about this issue.

Actually i resolved. I forgot to update this.

First you are correct I put move by mistake will edit that in case others read this.

The issue was think when I was moving things around I moved my folders down but I must have put them into another mail account that just happened to be at the bottom of the list so all my new filters should have been directed into that for moving mails to. I found it when I was discussing this with a member in the Firefox forum that has been helpful in the past. Not sure why but for some reason alot of the same folders still show up in the other mail account even though they are not in the list as I did move them but no matter it is all resolved and the new folders are showing up just fine now!

Thanks!
